Fishing · Brad Laabs Fishing Report - Sept. 9 2010

Water temps continue to drop and are in the mid to low 60"s now. We continue have inconstant weather with multiple fronts. This has made for an inconsistent bite over the last week.

We have also had to contend with high winds. The forecast for the weekend has some rain. Bring cold weather and raingear. Walleyes have been scattered with some on edges in 19-24 ft, some in deep water in the 32-36ft range and some, at times have been on the flats in 8-11ft ( at night and in the high winds).

Big Detroit, White Earth, Otter Tail, Pelican and Island have produced some fish during daylight. Check out Cormorant, OT and Rush at night. Smallmouth bass are biting on hard bottom areas off deep weed edges in 16-19ft on Island, Lida, Cormorant and White Earth. Largemouth fisherman can check out Cotton, Floyd, Mellissa, Big Detroit and both Long lakes. Muskie chasers are getting a few to bite on Battle, Big DL, and Pelican. Bite continue to be a pitching bite getting the nod over the trolling bite. Time for big suckers is right around the corner.
