Fishing · Brad Laabs Fishing Report - July 7, 2010

The Walleye bite has been good when the wind is blowing or the clouds are
overhead. The bite has been tough on the days when we have flat water and
bright sunshine. Try your luck with other species when it gets flat and
bright. Fish may come a couple at a time from each spot.

If you go for a spell without a bite, jump until you find active fish. The rigging bite in 20-28ft has been producing, but you need to change baits between leeches, crawlers or minnows to see what they are going on. It has been changing day to day and sometimes throughout the day. Detroit, Pelican, the Pines and OT continue to produce.

Bass guys are finding success on Melissa, Floyd, Cotton and Long. Aggressive patterns on weeds prevail here.

Northern active on Melissa, Sallie, Big McDonald. Pan Fish are active in the weeds everywhere on small jigs tipped with small leeches or a piece of crawler. Muskie chasers are going to find mornings and evenings producing a little better
than the day bite.

Chunk on the edges of the large flats on Detroit and Pelican for big Muskie.
