A breakthrough in glaucoma detection, GDX technology provides a rapid, objective and accurate evaluation because it measures the site of glaucoma damage, not just a symptom of the disease. GDX examines the nerve fiber layer-the tissue at the back of the eye that is directly affected by glaucoma.

Research shows that corneal thickness does alter measured Intraocular Pressure. A thick cornea can cause an elevated reading while a thin cornea can give false low reading. Pachymetry is an instrument used for measuring this thickness and is utilized in our office to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.
